Bloomsbury is a rural town right at the heart of the Queensland region. Right in the northern part of Bloomsbury lies a system of rivers that includes the O'Connell River and the Andromache River that end up at the Coral Sea. The major highway that passes through the Bloomsbury area is Bruce Highway. This connects Bloomsbury to the Mackay region. Driving through Bloomsbury shows a pleasant countryside. There are few houses in the area as most of the land is relegated to farming and cattle raising. The Cathu Forest Lookout provides stunning views to the mountain ridges in the surrounding area. The highest point can allow mountaineers spectacular sights that can extend up to Airlie Beach.
