Bogangar is a town in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, Australia in Tweed Shire. In 2006, the town had a population of 3,099 people, including 2,567 (82.8%) Australian-born persons and 149 (4.8%) indigenous persons. A town of the Northern Rivers region in New South Wales, Bogangar is situated 44 kilometres south of Gold Coast and 807 kilometres north of Sydney. It is under the administration of the Tweed Shire local government area, the council seat of which is located in the nearby town of Murwillumbah. Bogangar is home to the Cudgen Lake, a popular destination in the area for picnics, swimming, boating, windsurfing, kayaking and canoeing. It also has surrounding wetlands that provide good spots for bird watching.
