Cungulla is a suburb of Northern, Queensland and is about 1081 kms northwest of QLD's capital city of Brisbane. Cungulla Beach lies on the northern shore of the Haughton River mouth and is a narrow, curving, east facing high tide beach, fronted by tidal flats up to 2 km wide that end at the deep river channel. An arm of the channel sweeps past the northern end of the beach, providing good boat access to the river. The entire beach is backed by a housing and shack settlement.
