Mayfield is a suburb of Tasmania, Tasmania and is about 167 kms north of TAS's capital city of Hobart. In the 2011 Australian census the population of Mayfield was 1,558 when there were 803 Females and 755 Males living there. The median age for people living in Mayfield was 32. To the north of the Launceston CBD, Mayfield is situated close to the University of Tasmania campus and to the Australian Maritime College.
