Walkaway is a suburb of South East & Central, Western Australia and is about 350 kms north- northwest of WA's capital city of Perth. In the 2011 Australian census the population of Walkaway was 287 when there were 148 Females and 139 Males living there. Walkaway is a small town in the City of Greater Geraldton local government area of Western Australia. A number of renewable energy generation projects are located near Walkaway. The Walkaway Wind Farm, 9 kilometres east of Walkaway, was completed in August 2005. The Mumbida Wind Farm, 5 kilometres east of Walkaway, is a 55 MW renewable energy project
