Wolli Creek is a suburb in southern Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Wolli Creek sits beside the Wolli Creek and Cooks River waterways. Wolli Creek is situated between the suburbs of Arncliffe and Tempe, 10 kilometres south of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Rockdale and is part of the St George area. Wolli Creek is currently being redeveloped from a predominantly industrial precinct into a high density residential and commercial area. Its close proximity to the Sydney CBD and Sydney Airport make it an attractive residential area. There are currently shops and cafés along Magdalene Terrace, Arncliffe Street and Brodie Spark Drive. A medical centre also is situated along Magdalene Terrace. A 4,200m2 Woolworths supermarket (opened on the 10th of October 2012) and a Dan Murphy's store are situated on the corner of the Princes Highway and Arncliffe Street. There is also a small retail area on the corner of Bonar Street and Thompson Street, which currently contains a dentist and Wolli Creek Physiotherapy & Pilates. The area around the Wolli Creek train station is also being transformed into a village square. The piazza-style Wolli Creek Village Square will be an outdoor shopping and dining precinct once fully completed. The village square area currently contains an Asian supermarket, butchers, pharmacy, barber, bakery, restaurants and café. Part of the village square will include the transport interchange, for rail, bus and taxi. The first stage of the Village Square is complete An Aldi Supermarket on Magdalene Terrace, is due for completion in 2016.Points of Interest
