Yalgoo is a suburb of South East & Central, Western Australia and is about 409 kms north- northeast of WA's capital city of Perth. In the 2011 Australian census the population of Yalgoo was 405 when there were 126 Females and 279 Males living there. Yalgoo is a town in the Murchison region 118 kilometres east-north-east of Mullewa. Over time the graziers saw the value in the Yalgoo land and began to establish the first sheep stations. Alluvial gold was discovered in the 1890s in Yalgoo, which lies 216 kilometres east of Geraldton. Today, gold is still found in the district and visitors are encouraged to try their luck fossicking in the area.
