Yanchep is an outer coastal suburb of Perth, Western Australia, 56 kilometres north of Perth's central business district. Yanchep is part of the City of Wanneroo local government area. Originally Yanchep was a small crayfishing settlement. Today the primary appeal of the Yanchep area is the remarkable Yanchep National Park - a haven for Grey Western Kangaroos, superb displays of wildflowers during the spring, and broad, well maintained parklands beside lakes which are ideal for picnics, parties and barbecues.
