York is a suburb of South Western, Western Australia and is about 86 kms east of WA's capital city of Perth. In the 2011 Australian census the population of York was 2,387 when there were 1,203 Females and 1,184 Males living there. York is the oldest inland town in Western Australia. York has adapted by changing from a traditional sheep and wheat agricultural community into a tourist town.
