Tamborine Mountain is a suburb of South Eastern, Queensland and is about 52 kms south-southeast of QLD's capital city of Brisbane. In the 2011 Australian census the population of Tamborine Mountain was 7,030 when there were 3,675 Females and 3,355 Males living there. The median age for people living in Tamborine Mountain was 46 Tamborine Mountain is a 28 square kilometres (11 sq mi) plateau (8 km long by 4 km wide) and locality in the Scenic Rim local government area of South East Queensland, Australia. The name is of Aboriginal origin and has nothing to do with the musical instrument. Tamborine Mountain is considered part of the Gold Coast hinterland and has a strong tourist industry.
